- The artist behind this item is "DrinkyTengu".
- The Pantheracorax Agate mentions Gaia NPC:

- This has been the only Evolving Item priced at 399 Gaia Cash.
- The name is a combination of Panthera and Corax an ancient Greek term for "crow". (See also Corvus corax).
- Agate is a type of quartz known for its colorful bending stripes.
- It was speculated that the Pantheracorax Agate would evolve into a Griffin, which it did.
- The Griffon Mount position in which the user's avatar would change completely into a Pantheracorax had a back leg missing, which is still visible on the thumbnail, possibly because it was originally only supposed to be a mount. The missing leg was later added.
- The two poses mentioned above, when equipped, enable the user to fly in Gaia Towns, although the user can't actually fly over anything like the Item:Mini UFO used to be able to do.
- Those who've use the Gaia Virtual Lounge could temporarily become a Pantheracorax Griffon by earning gold in the application and buying the option from a vending machine.
