- The name of the item is based on the term Jinx, a type of curse placed on a person that makes them prey to many minor misfortunes and other forms of bad luck.
- In the native tradition or Aztec tradition, shamans use voodoo dolls to punish a person they hate by stabbing it, but before doing it, they would use a chant.
