Overview

• Appeared 2003 August 8, as Unreleased Items individually.
• These are the oldest known contact lenses created.
  • Each lens had its own description and a price which was set at 5000, possibly in Gold.
  • They were leaked in 2004 through a Developer's wishlist.
  • On December 18, 2008, a user made a posting concerning the purchase of 'Alien Contact Lens' for 1 Gold on the marketplace from an account that appeared to be a developer. It was later revealed that the developer's account was compromised and the delinquent of the account was selling their items. After that incident a number of users in the The GAIA Exchange inquired about the lenses. On January 17, 2009, the user who originally purchased the lenses stated that due to them contacting a Moderator about the purchase and not reselling the lenses, they were rewarded 5,000 Gold.
• Given the fact that the Avatar System was not coded to handle eye items they were never publicly released for seven years. So it is the Item:Oculus Magica, a Monthly Collectible, that ended up being the first contact lens and eye item.
